Outpost Natural Foods
In 1970, Outpost Natural Foods opened as East Kane Street Food Co-op as a means for people in the Milwaukee area to purchase foods they considered wholesome and whole. This new health food store in Milwaukee was originally completely “staffed” by volunteers, now Outpost Natural Foods employs nearly 500 workers, is a UFCW — Local 1473 union shop, and boasts over 23,000 owners. Part of the mission of this Wisconsin food co-op is to provide the community with access to products and services that promote personal and environmental health, as well as organically and locally produced goods.
This natural food grocery store has a variety of organic, local, fair trade and GMO-free food options for you to choose from. Make sure to check out the traditional grocery store departments as well as the deciduous menu of the Eat at the Fork Cafe. Looking for even more fresh food?
