What To Do During Your Wisconsin Weekend Getaway

For an unforgettable Tosa trip with the entire family, a visit to the Milwaukee County Zoo is a must. With more than 2,100 animals representing 354 species, this outdoor attraction can easily make up a full day of family fun as you search for your favorite animals.

Located in Tosa Village, visit Hart Park day or night for outdoor entertainment. Take the kids to the park’s splash pad to cool off during the day, then check out Tosa Tonight at the Rotary Performance Pavilion to enjoy live music most Wednesday throughout the summer at 6pm.

The Landing at Hoyt Park makes for another perfect day in the park here in Wauwatosa. Complete with local beers on tap at the beer garden and plenty of space for the kids (and your pups!) to play, spread out and enjoy a day under the Wauwatosa summer sun.

Tosa Farmers Market offers locally-grown, fresh produce and food products crafted by local artisans every Saturday starting May 28 through October 15th from 8am to noon. Discover your new favorite weekend treat while supporting local business owners!

Another must-visit place to explore this summer is 1st and Bowl, Milwaukee’s first-ever football bowling bar that has games galore. Haven’t heard of football bowling? Check them out and you won’t be disappointed — it combines two of our favorite things! Reserve a space to play outdoor Backyard Football Bowling or head to their outdoor beer garden filled with bean bag toss stations.

Last but certainly not least, the Mayfair Collection is the perfect destination to walk around and shop through 400,000 square feet of stores. Plus, be on the lookout for their widely-popular summer concert series.

Where to Eat All Weekend

One of our favorite ways to dine in Wauwatosa is outdoors! Ca’Lucchenzo’s refreshed outdoor patio is the perfect place to devour homemade pasta dishes while tasting hand-selected wine pairings and delicious cocktails.

A few blocks down on North Avenue, you can find Wauwatiki – a vibrant restaurant that brings the tropics to Tosa. Enjoy island-inspired drinks and 100% gluten-free food options, including the Hawaiian Fried Rice, Tiki Burger, and Haddock Fish Fry.

Located in East Tosa, 69th Street Plaza is the ultimate summer spot for all things sweet. Pick up Rocket Baby Bakery’s summer creations or scoop a donut from Cranky Al’s — then, enjoy the plaza covered in string lights and fun seating options. Bonus points if you take a picture in front of Tosa’s magical murals that can be found right across the street!

If you’re looking to really cater to your sweet tooth cravings, head over to Tosa Village for Black Twig Bakery. They always have their full menu of tasty treats, but you’ll really want to take a peek at their exclusive menu featuring flavors of the month.

For the ultimate summer treat, stop by The Ruby Tap for their frosé freeze pops, which are available in 4, 6, and 12 packs. They also have an outdoor patio for you to enjoy your drink of choice under the summer sun.
