Kneeland-Walker House

Built in 1890 and sitting on 1.5 acres of land, Kneeland-Walker House is the largest remaining residential lot in Wauwatosa and is a landmark of Wauwatosa and Milwaukee County. Located in East Tosa, This historical landmark is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Currently owned by the Wauwatosa Historical Society, this is a Wauwatosa landmark that shouldn’t be missed. There are plenty of things to do at the Kneeland Walker House.

The gardens themselves are a site to see. They are solely run and kept by volunteers. The grounds contain many plants that are characteristic of a midwestern Victorian-era garden, such as flowering quince and climbing rose, and old-fashioned favorites like hollyhocks. Mass plantings of annuals in combination with perennials produce the profusion of color so popular at the turn of the 20th century. 

The Kneeland-Walker House and Grounds offer many options inside and out for events, including the main house, meeting rooms, coach house and the grounds. If you are interested in the history of the house, tours are available for small groups (five people or fewer) on Wednesdays at 10:00, 11:00, 12:00 or 1:00. Tours for large groups are available by reservation only.
